This policy explains when and how refunds are issued. It works alongside our Return Policy.
How Refunds Are Issued
Refunds are credited to the original payment method used at checkout. We cannot refund to a different card, account, or payment type.
Refund Timing
- Inspection: Once your returned item is received, we inspect it within 2–3 business days
- Processing: If approved, the refund is initiated within 1–2 business days after inspection
- Posting: Depending on your card issuer or bank, the refund typically appears on your statement within 5–10 business days after we process it
What Gets Refunded
We refund:
- The purchase price of eligible returned items
- Sales tax paid on returned items
We do not refund:
- Original shipping charges, unless the return is due to our error or a defective item
- Return shipping costs, unless covered by our Return Policy exceptions
- Restocking fees, if applicable to your return
Order Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, email us as soon as possible at customerservice@backyardbbq.com. We’ll do our best to catch the order before it ships:
- Orders canceled before shipping: full refund, no fees
- Orders that have already shipped: follow the return process in our Return Policy
- Custom or made-to-order items: may not be cancellable once production has started
Partial Refunds
Partial refunds may apply when:
- An item is returned outside the 30-day window (at our discretion)
- An item shows signs of use or installation
- The packaging is missing or significantly damaged, reducing the item’s resale condition
- Parts, manuals, or accessories are missing from the return
Failed or Delayed Refunds
If you haven’t received your refund after the expected window:
- Check your bank or card statement for pending transactions
- Contact your card issuer — processing times vary
- If it’s been more than 10 business days since we notified you of the refund, email customerservice@backyardbbq.com with your order number
Chargebacks
Please contact us first if you have a concern with your order. Filing a chargeback before reaching out can delay resolution. We’re here to make it right and usually can do so faster than a chargeback dispute process.
