The shelf mounts to the grill's bracket attach assembly and is supported front and back by black support brackets, with a shelf stiffener for added rigidity. Installation hardware is included, and assembly requires only basic tools (3/8" and 7/16" wrenches, plus a Phillips bit). This shelf is rated to hold approximately 25 pounds — enough for grilling tools and serveware, but not intended for heavier loads. At 6.5 lb, it's light enough for straightforward installation without adding excess bulk to your grill cart.
