Model: DPA100
Turn your Broilmaster grill into two grills in one with the Smoker Shutter, an adjustable accessory that converts your P3, T3, or D3 model between direct and indirect cooking modes. Leave it open for traditional high-heat grilling — searing steaks, chops, and other foods that benefit from direct flame. Close it, and it deflects direct heat while catching drippings, which burn off against the hot shutter to generate smoke. The result is indirect, rotisserie-style cooking that's ideal for slow-roasting whole chickens and roasts, baking pizzas and breads, or cooking covered dishes that would otherwise scorch over open flame. The shutter assembly is built from durable components, including a six-shutter frame, linkage bar, and actuator rod with knob for easy control from outside the grill. Installation is a DIY-friendly drilling job into the grill body bottom, with a straightforward hook-and-rod linkage system. If your grill is set into a BIKH grill surround, you'll also need to drill the stainless steel front panel and add the B100550 Actuator Rod Kit (sold separately), which supplies the longer 9" rod and bushing required for that configuration. Note that with the Smoker Shutter installed, only the middle and high cooking grid positions are usable — the lowest level requires removing the shutter. Before your first cook, run the grill on high for about 15 minutes to burn off manufacturing oils. Gloves are recommended when handling the shutter frame during installation.
